Carbon Monoxide Detector

CO Authority CO detector

CO Authority is a carbon monoxide detector that will change the way carbon monoxide poisoning protection is applied. When carbon monoxide is detected, CO Authority sounds an alarm and shuts off the source.

Why buy CO Authority?

Compare our product to any other detector in the world and you will see why CO Authority is the safest, most reliable detector on the market today. CO Authority is the only detector that will continuously sample the air throughout the entire home, as air circulates through your duct system it is constantly tested for carbon monoxide. There is a second sensor that is sampling the air in the mechanical room so if your flu pipe or water heater was to emit carbon monoxide the detector would sound an alarm and stop the furnace from spreading the deadly poison throughout your home. All other detectors will say “DO NOT INSTALL IN THE MECHANICAL ROOM”; this is where in most cases carbon monoxide comes from. We calibrate our CO sensors and set them at 50ppm which is the maximum exposure allowed in an 8 hour period. Compare that to other detectors and they will have a range of exposure most commonly 70ppm to 140ppm @ 50% humidity for an exposure time of at least 1 hour. Your furnace or boiler will not continually run for 1 hour, in most cases they will run for 15 minutes every hour in cold weather conditions. By the time the other detectors sound an alarm you may have been exposed to carbon monoxide for several years and keep in mind that humidity plays a big factor as well. The higher the humidity the more responsive CO sensors are, the lower the humidity is the more exposure it will take to cause the sensors to react. CO Authority has humidity sensors that work with the CO sensors to keep them calibrated at 50ppm in any humidity conditions. Compare us to everyone else and you will see there is nothing even close to the safety and value you get with a CO Authority detector in your home in fact if you where to count all the heat registers in your home, you would have to purchase one detector for each register throughout your entire home. Even purchasing cheap co detectors you will still spend $800.00 to $1,200.00 dollars and you still would not get the protection you will get from just one CO Authority detector. According to OSHA, the permissible exposure limit for carbon monoxide is 50 parts per million (ppm). Most carbon monoxide detectors on the market today only sound an audible alarm when it senses 70 ppm of carbon monoxide if they detect it consistently for a time period of 1 to 4 Hours. In some cases, the time it takes for detection can be hazardous. Almost all brands of carbon monoxide alarms will state “DO NOT INSTALL IN THE MECHANICAL ROOM” this is where (in most cases) carbon monoxide that is produced in the home comes from when people are exposed and become hospitalized or killed.

CO Authority will shut off the source of carbon monoxide upon detection within 15 minutes, starting at a reading of 50 ppm. CO Authority is a detector not just an alarm.

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

CO gas
  • Carbon monoxide, or CO, is a colorless and odorless gas that can cause sudden illness and death
  • Carbon monoxide poisoning is the number 1 cause for accidental poisoning
  • Carbon monoxide poisoning claims nearly 500 lives every year (USA Alone)
  • There are over 20,000 emergency room visits, of which 4,000 are hospitalized from serious carbon monoxide poisoning
  • Low Levels of carbon monoxide can be fatal to small children, elderly, and those suffering respiratory or heart problems
